C. Detailed Design

Our Architect, Contractor and Engineers will collaborate to provide more effective decision making, helping to improve quality and eliminate, control and reduce risks.

1. Structural Modelling

Software used: Revit 2014, Autodesk Design Review, Robot

The structural model is to be completed by the structural engineer of the project team. The model has to be constantly reviewed and updated accordingly after processes like the Structural Load Analysis using Robot, and going through clash detection by the team. This will ensure that the final model will not produce any clashes with the Archtitectural and MEP models updatedly and reviewed concurrently.

2. Architectural Modelling

Software used: Revit 2014, Autodesk Design Review

The architectural model is to be completed by the architect of the project team. Similarly, the model has to be constantly reviewed and updated accordingly after processes like detailed spatial zoning to the likes of the client and clash detection by the team to ensure no clashes will occur between the various models.

3. Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) Modelling

Software used: Revit 2014, Autodesk Design Review, Ecotect

The architectural model is to be completed by the Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) Engineer of the project team. The model has to be constantly reviewed and updated accordingly after processes like the Heating & Cooling Load Analysis using Ecotect, and going through clash detection by the team. This is to ensure that the final model will not have clashes with the Structural and Architectural models updatedly and reviewed concurrently.

4. Model Coordination

Software used: Revit 2014, Navisworks, Solibri Model Checker, CostX, Glodon

This is the responsibility of the Clash Detection team. The objective is to achieve proper Design Coordination of models from 3 disciplines – Architectural, Structural and MEP. Design and review of the collaboration process of the update of the models to ensure that conflict resolution is performed prior to actual construction. Such clashes identified through Navisworks and Solibri Model Checker will be highlighted to the architect, structural engineer and MEP engineer accordingly, and they will then decide on how to resolve the clashes. Also, estimated cost of the entire building can be calculated from all the various models by tabulating the total quantity of materials and cost required using CostX.

5. Design and Construction Evaluation

Software used: Revit 2014, Navisworks

There are two main categories under this phase - code compliance and construction schedule. Under code compliance, the buildability score and constructability score should be tabulated and ensure the minimum score required stipulated in the Code of Practice of Buildability is achieved. The Green Mark Scheme may also be brought in, tabulating the attainable Green Mark scores and maximising them to ensure that the desired level of Green Mark Certification can be achieved. Next, the Construction Schedule can be developed using Navisworks to simulation the entire project construction process and estimated duration.
