A. Conceptualization

In this stage, our project team gathers together to improve the precision of the decisions. With accurate decisions, the remaining process will be more foreseeable, thus costly redesign work can be prevented.

1. BIM Execution Plan

Software used: Excel Spreadsheet, Word Document

This is one of the most important document through the entire BIM project. It plans the overall approach to the project by the project members. It defines the expected BIM deliverables and guides the coodination of the project teams. The different tasks to be completed by the various members accordng to their capabilities and the timeline of the entire project will be stipulated in this document. It serves as a timetable for the entire project team to follow, ensuring the BIM project will be completed within the planned time. This document is also constantly updated when there is delay in any phases by any members, and adjusted accordingly.

2. Site Layout

Software used: Revit 2014, Sketchup, Google Earth

This phase includes establishing the Project Datum which all levels to be constructed or already constructed will be created relative to this Datum. The boundaries of the allocated site and its contours should also be clearly marked out and established in this phase using Google Earth and Sketchup.

3. Site Analysis

Software used: Google Maps, Vasari, Ecotect

A detailed study and anlaysis on the site/building allocated is required. The study can be separated into two main categories - the Built-up Environment and the Natural Envronment. The analysis on the built-up environment involves the study on the traffic and human density within and around the site, the accessibility of the site and the currently available amenities and buildings adjacent and surrounding the site. For the Natural Environment, the analysis includes the Sun Path study, Wind Rose/Tunnel study and the Environment/Climate study of the allocated site.
